Camera access is needed to scan plates.
Point the rear camera at the number plate.
Last reading
β€”
Ready.
Tips for a clean read: fill the amber guide box with just the plate, hold steady for a second before tapping Scan, avoid glare/reflections, and get as close as the camera allows. Very angled or motion-blurred shots are the most common cause of a bad read.
Spacing/punctuation doesn't matter β€” it's normalised automatically for matching.
Alert triggers the full-screen red warning. Watch shows a quieter amber notice.

Export watchlist

Download the full watchlist as a JSON file β€” useful for backups or copying the list to another device/PC.

Import watchlist

Load a previously exported JSON file. Choose whether to merge with the current list or replace it entirely.

Danger zone

Permanently erase every entry on this device. This cannot be undone.

πŸŽ₯ Configured feeds

Every camera you add here becomes selectable from the Scan tab β€” useful for covering multiple pump lanes or entry/exit points from one device.

πŸ’» Local cameras

Built-in or USB-connected webcams on this device. Detection needs one-time camera permission.

🌐 Network / IP cameras

Heads up: browsers can't automatically scan your WiFi/network for cameras β€” that's blocked for security reasons on every phone and desktop browser. What you can do is add each IP camera's stream URL below (most forecourt/IP cameras expose an MJPEG stream or snapshot URL in their settings, usually something like http://192.168.1.50/video). Once added, it behaves just like a local camera in the Scan tab.
MJPEG streams work best. The camera must be reachable on your current network and allow mixed content if this app is loaded over HTTPS.

πŸ”Ž Camera discovery helper

The app itself can't run ARP or scan your network β€” browsers block that for security. But it can generate a small script for you to run once on any laptop connected to the station's network. It reads the ARP table, checks which devices answer on common camera ports, and prints ready-to-try stream URLs you can paste above.

Requires Python 3 on the laptop (no extra installs needed β€” it only uses the standard library). Run it with:
python3 discover_cameras.py
On Windows: python discover_cameras.py. It won't touch or configure anything β€” it only reads and prints.

Not comfortable with a terminal? Download both files into the same folder, then just double-click run_discovery.bat. If Python isn't installed yet, it installs it automatically (you may see a Windows permission prompt β€” click Yes), then runs the scan for you.

βœ… Lane rules & alerts

Now live in the Lanes tab: mark any lane as an auto plate-check point (useful for entry lanes), and set long-stay warnings per lane to flag vehicles that linger β€” configure each in that lane's setup panel.
